About the position

The Cybersecurity Lead Engineer is a pivotal member of a global team of security engineers, architects, and practitioners dedicated to enabling business growth while ensuring secure access to information, data, and services. This role is designed for a professional with a comprehensive understanding of IT and IT security, covering various environments such as network, server, endpoint, cloud, and operational technology (OT). The primary objective is to integrate security into all components of the organization's infrastructure, adhering to established standards and risk frameworks. The position demands in-depth expertise in at least three specific technologies or capability areas, emphasizing the importance of a well-rounded skill set in cybersecurity. In this role, the Cybersecurity Lead Engineer will be responsible for implementing and configuring security products and solutions in an agile manner, balancing risk, functionality, and speed to meet organizational requirements. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Engineering and Technology, this position will function as both a security architect and engineer, collaborating with junior engineers, analysts, and service providers to support, maintain, and operate security technologies effectively. The responsibilities encompass a wide range of activities, including monitoring and controlling security service delivery, providing post-implementation support, designing and maintaining core cybersecurity capabilities, identifying potential threats, and ensuring compliance with security requirements. The role also involves leading projects across various technology areas, developing IT security strategic plans, and providing informal technical support and training to less experienced team members. Continuous personal and professional development is encouraged, with a focus on maintaining up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and best practices in cybersecurity.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, control, and support execution of security service delivery including requests, incidents, root cause, problem and change management in compliance with ITSM policies and processes.
  • Provide post-implementation support and regular system maintenance, which may require evening, weekend, and on-call support.
  • Design, implement, and maintain core cybersecurity capabilities, technologies, and systems.
  • Identify potential threats, exploit attempts, and security events; make recommendations and/or take action to mitigate these issues as appropriate.
  • Manage the technical and functional delivery of Security Services according to established ITSM SLAs, processes, and practices.
  • Lead projects across different technology areas or teams from design through post-implementation.
  • Identify operational and security risks during day-to-day activities and audits; make recommendations and/or take action to mitigate these risks.
  • Regularly review and execute security technologies, infrastructure, systems, and processes to ensure compliance with security requirements and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain IT Security strategic plans, roadmaps, and architecture aligned with IT and IT Security vision.
  • Prepare project proposals that contribute to the overall IT Security portfolio.
  • Provide informal technical support and training to less experienced teammates.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge by researching new technologies and participating in educational opportunities and conferences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a relevant field.
  • Three or more relevant certifications such as GIAC Certified, CCSK, OCSP, CISSP, Cloud Certified (AWS, GCP, Azure), CEH, ITIL, CCNS, CISC, CPFA, RHCE, Microsoft Certification, Security+, or other related security certifications.
  • 8-12 years of experience in a cybersecurity role.
  • Broad and in-depth knowledge of cybersecurity technologies.
  • 8 years of experience working in a 24x7 global enterprise environment.
  • 5 years of experience in cybersecurity solutions.
  • Extensive experience planning and deploying both business and IT initiatives.
  • Experience with architecture and implementations of IT/IT Security solutions.
  • Proven ability to drive security processes, remediation, and standards within a complex business environment while maintaining continuity of business operations.
  • Comprehensive technical knowledge of all areas within IT and an understanding of all business functions and their interactions.
  • Experience leading and working in a collaborative, multi-disciplined, globally diverse team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels, including written, verbal, and visual communications.
  • Positive customer service approach with the ability to handle high-pressure support needs calmly and efficiently.
  • Ability to discuss technical information with non-technical individuals across multiple cultures.
