About the position

The Cybersecurity Network Engineer role involves managing incoming requests for network connectivity through a ticketing system, ensuring that only the necessary access is granted while adhering to best practices. Engineers will utilize tools to format API commands for access, execute these commands, and update firewall policies accordingly. The position emphasizes speed and efficiency, with a target of handling 20 minutes per ticket, totaling 24 tickets per day.

Responsibilities

• Receive and manage incoming requests via the Service Now ticketing system.
• Challenge request details to ensure minimum required access is provided.
• Transfer requirements into a tool for formatting API commands.
• Execute commands against API to grant access and publish firewall policy updates.
• Document all requests (fulfilled and rejected) within the Service Now system.

Requirements

• Experience as a Cybersecurity Engineer.
• Understanding of firewall policies and security protocols, with checkpoint experience required.
• Experience with Fortinet and Palo Alto firewalls is a plus.
• Experience working with the Service Now ticketing system.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, cybersecurity, or equivalent.
• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks within established time frames.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new or evolving technologies.
• Possessing technical security certifications is a strong asset.
• Ability to write and edit formal-technical documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
