As a Cybersecurity Network Engineer at Actalent, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) environment. Your responsibilities will include providing daily operational support, which encompasses data transfer, equipment setup, and the installation and maintenance of both software and hardware. You will be tasked with integrating various modeling and simulation tools to ensure they operate compatibly in both standalone and integrated modes, maintaining the integrity of scenarios across the board. The role requires you to maintain both classified and unclassified MS&A environments, which involves implementing networks and activating discrete data circuits using existing military or commercial communication systems. You will work with a variety of hardware typical to the MS&A network, including optical devices, Asynchronous Transfer Mode, Ethernet, Synchronous Optical Networks, and various digital and analog devices such as servers, routers, bridges, hubs, concentrators, switches, and firewalls. Your design and installation of MS&A network systems must comply with COMSEC, Emission Security, and other Information Assurance (IA) guidelines specific to each system. Additionally, you will ensure that disaster recovery and continuity of operations are integral parts of the system architecture process, coordinating all related issues effectively. In your role, you will also provide help desk support for MS&A IT systems, acting as the primary contact for customer inquiries, problem resolution, and service requests. You will manage user accounts for the ZA MS&A networks, which includes creating, deleting, and modifying accounts as well as setting user access privileges as requested by the government. A significant focus of your work will be on cybersecurity support, where you will conduct annual reviews, updates, certifications, and reaccreditations for all classified and unclassified network systems, including Video Teleconferencing (VTC) systems. You will keep the ZA VTCs and MS&A networks up-to-date, assist government officials in scheduling and conducting Staff Assistance Visits, and perform necessary follow-up inspections. Your responsibilities will also include conducting research and analysis to assess the IA security posture and the impact of new systems and programs mandated by various defense agencies. You will monitor and maintain the Vulnerability Management System, ensuring compliance with established guidelines and addressing any vulnerabilities identified.
