About the position

The Cybersecurity Operations Center Analyst at Travelers is responsible for monitoring enterprise systems and performing incident response in a 24x7x365 Security Operations Center (SOC). This role involves working with a skilled cybersecurity team to protect enterprise resources, requiring coverage during specific hours and participation in incident response actions. The ideal candidate should possess a hands-on background in cybersecurity, strong communication skills, and a critical thinking aptitude to analyze and resolve security events.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor enterprise systems and perform incident response in a 24x7x365 SOC environment.
  • Provide coverage from 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. EST hours.
  • Evaluate and deconstruct phishing pages and malware using various tools.
  • Maintain records of security monitoring and incident response activities.
  • Support troubleshooting and maintenance of cybersecurity processes and controls.
  • Prepare briefings and reports on analysis methodology and results.
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and documentation.
  • Generate end-of-shift reports for knowledge transfer to subsequent analysts.
  • Function as a security representative in design and technology meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline preferred.
  • Three years of relevant experience in Cybersecurity practices and event investigation preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Python.
  • Experience in data analysis and root cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of networking and cybersecurity methodologies.

  • Experience working in a 24x7x365 operations-focused team.
  • Conceptual understanding of cybersecurity procedures and policies.
