About the position

The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies is seeking a Cybersecurity Operations Lead to support our government customer in Arlington, VA. This role is critical in managing the operations of cybersecurity personnel, applications, and appliances to effectively protect the cyber terrain. The Cybersecurity Operations Lead will oversee various cybersecurity functions, including firewall management, host intrusion detection and prevention systems management, and security information and event management (SIEM). This position also involves conducting audit log reviews and analyses, vulnerability scanning, incident response, and providing technical analysis and troubleshooting assistance. In addition to these responsibilities, the Cybersecurity Operations Lead will support the agency with project tracking using the Integrated Master Schedule and will be responsible for presenting project updates to the agency's change boards. The role may also include other duties as assigned, requiring a flexible approach to meet the evolving needs of the organization. Candidates for this position should possess a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related field, or have 6-10 years of relevant experience in the cybersecurity field. A strong understanding of project management and resource allocation is essential, along with in-depth knowledge of systems security engineering, operations, incident response methodologies, and personnel management. The position requires U.S. citizenship and an active top-secret clearance, reflecting the sensitive nature of the work involved.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the operations of cybersecurity personnel, applications, and appliances.
  • Oversee firewall management and host intrusion detection/prevention systems management.
  • Conduct security information and event management (SIEM) including audit log review and analysis.
  • Perform vulnerability scanning and incident response.
  • Provide technical analysis and troubleshooting assistance.
  • Support the agency with project tracking using the Integrated Master Schedule.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field or 6-10 years of experience in the cybersecurity field.
  • Required to be IAT level III (CASP CD, CCNP, CISA, CISSP).
  • In-depth knowledge of project management and resource allocation.
  • In-depth knowledge of systems security engineering and operations.
  • Experience with incident response methodologies and general use behavior analytics.
