About the position

Nightwing is supporting a U.S. Government customer on a large mission critical development and sustainment program to design, build, deliver, and operate a network operations environment with new cyber capabilities to address emerging threats. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive DevOps Operations Manager to join our team. This role is designed to provide essential support to our DevOps Program Manager and the broader team, focusing on optimizing operational processes, ensuring smooth day-to-day activities, and assisting with the implementation of strategic initiatives. While this position holds the title of Operations Manager, it is more of a team assistant role, providing hands-on support to enhance team efficiency rather than direct management responsibilities. The Operations Manager will assist the team in coordinating daily operations, scheduling meetings, and managing communications. This includes providing logistical support for team activities and events, identifying and suggesting improvements to operational processes and workflows, and helping to streamline tasks and increase efficiency across the team. The role also involves reviewing and analyzing operational metrics in ServiceNow, providing inputs into observed trends, and assisting teams to determine improvements. The Operations Manager will work closely with the Program Manager to track project milestones, deadlines, and deliverables, as well as assist with project documentation, taskers, reporting, and communication with stakeholders. Additionally, the Operations Manager will collect, organize, and analyze data to generate reports that support decision-making, provide insights to the Program Manager on operational performance and areas for improvement, and handle various administrative tasks such as managing taskers and preparing presentations. Ensuring that all team documentation is up-to-date and accessible is also a key responsibility, along with acting as a point of contact between the team and other departments or external partners. The role requires facilitating communication and collaboration to ensure alignment on key objectives and reviewing security risk assessment databases to ensure Risk Owners understand the findings and recommended risk mitigation strategies.
