The individual in this position will be responsible for monitoring various digital channels to identify possible attacks, intrusions, and anomalous activities, distinguishing these incidents from benign activities. The role involves initial case support through phone intake, email, and webform submissions, ensuring that all potential threats are logged and addressed appropriately. In addition to monitoring, the position requires the identification of indications of compromise and performing thorough analyses to define threats. The successful candidate will utilize provided monitoring tools to detect various types of threats, including phishing, malware, data loss, identity theft, and insider threats. Gathering key data and following defined processes for remediation is essential, as is the escalation of more complex cybersecurity incidents to higher-level support. The role also includes running reports and participating in continuous process improvement and training tasks, contributing to the overall enhancement of the cybersecurity framework within the organization. Responsibilities

  • Provides timely detection, identification, and alerts of possible attacks/intrusions, anomalous activities, and misuse activities.
  • Phone intake for initial case support (phone, email, webform).
  • Identifies indications of compromise and performs analysis to define threats.
  • Uses provided monitoring tools to detect threats including phishing, malware, data loss, identity theft, and insider threats.
  • Gathers key data, follows defined processes to perform remediation.
  • Escalates more difficult and complex cybersecurity incidents to the next level.
  • Runs reports.
  • Follows defined processes to perform remediation and escalation actions for cybersecurity incidents.
  • Participates in continuous process improvement and training tasks.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education, or equivalent experience required.
  • Some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience is required.
  • Basic foundational security knowledge is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications relevant to this position include CompTIA "Trifecta" (A+, Network+, and Security+).
