About the position

The Cybersecurity Policy Analyst will support the Department of Defense Chief Information Officer (DoD CIO) by providing expertise in cybersecurity policy and operational practices. This role involves drafting technical policies, strategies, and senior-level correspondence, as well as briefing clients and team members on various cybersecurity issues. The position requires a strong understanding of DoD cybersecurity defense practices and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support the DoD CIO in cybersecurity policy analysis and development.
• Draft organization-level technical policies and strategies.
• Prepare executive and formal senior-level correspondence to support decision-making.
• Brief clients and team members on technical, policy, and functional issues related to cybersecurity.
• Provide operational understanding of cybersecurity defense practices.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience in federal government, professional services, or federal consulting.
• 4+ years of experience supporting DoD-level cybersecurity defense teams.
• 4+ years of experience writing or drafting executive or formal senior-level correspondence.
• 2+ years of experience drafting organization-level technical policies and strategies.
• 1+ years of experience supporting DoD architecture concepts.
• BA or BS degree in a relevant field.
• Active Top Secret clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.
• Knowledge of NIST 800 series publications.
• Knowledge of Joint instructions and manuals.
• CISSP or CISM Certification.
