About the position

The Cybersecurity Risk Specialist position is a critical role that focuses on understanding and mitigating cyber threats faced by government agencies, particularly within Navy programs. As a member of our team, you will leverage your expertise in information security to help these organizations navigate the complexities of cyber risks. Your primary responsibility will be to assess the cyber threat landscape by gathering technical, environmental, and personnel information from engineers and subject matter experts. This will enable you to develop comprehensive mitigation plans that are tailored to the specific needs of your clients. In this role, you will be tasked with translating complex security concepts into actionable plans that your clients can understand and implement. This includes creating presentations, white papers, and establishing milestones that guide your clients through the risk management process. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing the cybersecurity posture of military networks and systems, ensuring that they remain secure against evolving threats. Responsibilities

  • Assess cyber risks for Navy programs and develop mitigation plans.
  • Gather technical, environmental, and personnel details from engineers and subject matter experts.
  • Translate security concepts into actionable plans for clients.
  • Create presentations, white papers, and establish milestones for risk management.
  • Guide clients through the risk management process and communicate technical concerns.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with cybersecurity, information assurance, and maintenance of information systems.
  • Experience with the DoD's Risk Management Framework, DoD Instructions (DoDI), NIST framework, and associated cybersecurity policies.
  • Experience with data management, data repositories, and spreadsheet maintenance on classified networks.
  • Experience with eMASS and maintenance of security policies.
  • Knowledge of network security policies, data protection, authentication protocols, and cybersecurity vulnerabilities.
  • Ability to manage and facilitate meetings on behalf of senior-level clients and communicate security-focused concerns.
  • Secret clearance required.
  • HS diploma or GED required.
  • CompTIA Security+ CE Certification or DoD 8140 compliance Certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cyber hardening, network security, and vulnerability management.
  • Experience with technical writing and cybersecurity requirements documentation.
  • Experience with security tools including firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, and vulnerability scanners.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • CISSP Certification.
