About the position

The Cybersecurity Senior Consultant at Crowe will play a pivotal role in delivering innovative solutions to complex business issues, particularly in the realm of IT consulting and cybersecurity. This position involves being a contributing team member on various engagements, including IT Risk Assessments, IT Internal Audits, Cybersecurity assessments, segregation of duties (SOD), implementation reviews, and IT SOX compliance. The consultant will be expected to generate innovative ideas and challenge the status quo, presenting creative and logical solutions to identified problems. In this role, the consultant will provide technical guidance to both Crowe staff and client organization personnel, identifying and evaluating business and technology risks, as well as internal controls that mitigate these risks. The consultant will also participate in the planning and implementation of client information systems, focusing on structure, process, and security. Effective communication is key, as the consultant will need to convey issues and status updates to both Crowe and client senior management. Additionally, the consultant will oversee the work of junior personnel and assist in the development and quality assurance of key internal audit deliverables. The position requires a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting, Computer Information Systems, or Management Information Systems, along with at least 2 years of experience in internal audit, consulting, or assurance services. Professional certifications such as CRISC, CISM, CPA, CIA, CISSP, or CISA are strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of emerging trends in information technology, privacy, and cybersecurity, as well as an understanding of internal control frameworks and audit methodologies. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for fostering client relationships and working effectively in a team environment. The role may require up to 60% travel, both nationally and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Generate innovative ideas and challenge the status quo
  • Present creative and logical solutions to identified problems
  • Provide technical guidance to Crowe staff and client organization personnel
  • Identify and evaluate business and technology risks, internal controls which mitigate risks, and related opportunities for internal control improvement
  • Participate in planning and implementing of client information systems, including structure, process, and security
  • Consult with clients to understand and address their needs
  • Communicate issues and status to Crowe and Client senior management
  • Oversee the work of junior level personnel
  • Assist with the development and quality assurance of key internal audit deliverables

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Accounting, Computer Information Systems, or Management Information Systems
  • 2+ years working in internal audit, consulting, assurance services, or related field
  • Professional Certification or working toward CRISC, CISM, CPA, CIA, CISSP or CISA strongly preferred
  • Understanding of commonly used internal control frameworks, including COSO and COBIT
  • Working experience with IT general controls, IT application controls and key report testing
  • Technical knowledge in SAP, Oracle Financials, PeopleSoft, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, WorkDay, JDE; Operating Systems and Databases such as Windows, SQL, iSeries, UNIX, LINUX; Cloud, AWS, Azure
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to perform complex analyses of data and information and make recommendations
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of risks and controls in IT and business processes

Nice-to-haves

  • Technical skills in ERP security administration, configuration controls, application controls, report baselining, interface reviews, configuration reviews or system implementations
  • Project management and supervisory experience
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with emphasis on communicating technical issues to nontechnical audiences
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment either onsite or at home
  • Capable of working in a demanding, deadline-driven environment
