About the position

The Cybersecurity Strategic Communications Consultant at Guidehouse is a senior-level role focused on developing and implementing strategic communication plans for CISA's Capacity Building initiatives. The consultant will engage with various stakeholders to effectively communicate organizational objectives and enhance client growth through impactful storytelling and content creation. This position requires a blend of creative writing, analytical thinking, and a deep understanding of the cybersecurity landscape.

Responsibilities

• Develop a strategic communication plan for a cybersecurity organization.
• Create campaign goals and think strategically to influence key stakeholders and the public.
• Provide communication support to define strategic goals for individual programs and broader efforts.
• Develop dynamic storytelling content including storyboards, success stories, and speeches.
• Perform technical writing/editing to create cohesive narratives from technical guidance and policy documents.
• Understand targeted audiences and develop content to inform and influence them.
• Translate complex subject matter into plain language for various audiences.
• Review speaking engagement requests and evaluate alignment with strategic priorities.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Five or more years of experience in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Communications, Technical Writing, Program/Project Management, or Technology Consulting.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience managing or supporting cybersecurity initiatives.
• Experience developing relationships with Federal clients both onsite and remotely.
• Ability to identify obstacles and opportunities impacting plans or initiatives.
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
• Experience managing direct client engagement teams.
• Background in public relations, marketing, crisis communication, or communication campaigns.
• Ability to develop cohesive messaging on key priorities and program updates.
