About the position

The Cybersecurity Technology Engineer at Travelers is responsible for engineering support, utilization, and operations of security technologies. This role involves planning and developing technology solutions that interface with various stakeholders, facilitating the design and implementation of complex cybersecurity solutions, and ensuring alignment with organizational needs and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate security solutions and platforms to recommend enhancements or additional implementations.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and prioritize projects.
  • Interface with software vendors regarding emerging technologies and new product testing.
  • Participate in the Request for Information (RFI) process with vendors.
  • Assist in onboarding emerging technologies through Proof of Technology or Proof of Concept.
  • Partner with architecture teams to enhance the strategic vision for the cybersecurity technology roadmap.
  • Align with standards and frameworks in cybersecurity with overall business strategy.
  • Meet with key stakeholders to provide project updates and metrics.
  • Transform customer requirements into cost-effective, technically correct solutions.
  • Prioritize work and manage projects within budget objectives.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience in Technology preferred.
  • Mastery knowledge in primary security products and ability to integrate them into the security program.
  • Understanding of Palo Alto, AWS resources, MS Azure, MS Defender, Splunk, SOAR, Proofpoint, Axonious, Sailpoint, DLP Platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to self-teach new technologies and apply them to problems.
  • Experience providing technical direction to project teams preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Ability to monitor performance & tuning, installation & configuration of security products.
