About the position

The Cybersecurity Technology Engineer at Travelers Insurance is responsible for engineering support, utilization, and operations of security technologies. This role involves planning and developing technology solutions, interfacing with customers and technical resources, and participating in the design and implementation of complex technology solutions that support Cybersecurity controls and operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of various security platforms and the ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate security solutions and platforms to recommend enhancements or additional implementations.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and prioritize projects.
  • Interface with software vendors regarding emerging technologies and new product testing.
  • Participate in the Request for Information (RFI) process with vendors.
  • Assist in the onboarding of emerging technologies in a Proof of Technology or Proof of Concept fashion.
  • Partner with architecture teams to enhance the strategic vision for Cybersecurity technology.
  • Align with standards and frameworks with overall business and technology strategy.
  • Meet with key stakeholders to provide project updates and metrics.
  • Transform customer requirements into cost-effective, technically correct solutions.
  • Prioritize work and manage projects within established budget objectives.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience in Technology preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Mastery knowledge in primary security products and ability to integrate them into the overall security program.
  • Experience with Palo Alto, AWS resources, MS Azure, MS Defender, Splunk, SOAR, Proofpoint, Axonious, Sailpoint, DLP Platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to self-teach new technologies and apply them to problems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience providing technical direction to project teams preferred.
