About the position

The Cybersecurity Test Engineer role at Bell involves conducting adversarial testing and certification of aircraft systems to enhance security for manned and optionally manned aircraft. This position requires collaboration with test pilots, design engineers, and simulation lab engineers to develop and implement test scenarios using advanced cyber tools. The engineer will be responsible for managing cyber testing processes, integrating custom tools, and supporting new aircraft technology development while ensuring compliance with customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, plan, and manage cyber testing for new and existing aircraft to meet customer requirements.
  • Build and integrate custom tools and tests for aircraft systems and sensors.
  • Develop and execute cybersecurity test procedures based on program test plans.
  • Support new aircraft and technology development with proprietary adversarial testing tools.
  • Create data interfaces for various avionics bus protocols and support the software development life cycle.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in penetration or adversarial testing, cyber threat analysis, and vulnerability detection.
  • Knowledge of traditional IEEE bus analysis and testing; familiarity with non-traditional protocols is preferred.
  • Experience in developing attack techniques and implementing custom exploits for penetration tests.
  • Subject matter expertise in malware detection, analysis, and mitigation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize work.
  • Excellent communication skills to build relationships with customers and suppliers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degrees in relevant fields considered as additional experience.
  • Experience with non-traditional bus protocols such as ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, CAN, AFDX.
