About the position

The Cypress QA Automation Engineer position at Sensiple Inc. is a long-term contract role based in New York City, requiring three days of onsite work each week. The primary responsibility of this role is to understand and analyze system requirements to prepare comprehensive test plans, designs, specifications, and scenarios. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of software testing methodologies and best practices, ensuring that all deliverables meet high-quality standards. In this role, the engineer will utilize various test automation tools and frameworks, such as Selenium, JUnit, and TestNG, to enhance the testing process. Familiarity with programming languages and scripting, particularly Java and Python, is essential for developing modularized automation framework components. The engineer will also lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure effective testing practices are implemented. The Cypress QA Automation Engineer will be responsible for preparing test cases, conducting peer reviews of test cases created by junior testers, and ensuring the readiness of the test bed and test environment for test execution. They will execute tests, analyze results, and prepare detailed test reports, collaborating with respective teams to resolve any identified issues. Additionally, the engineer will manage test activities, ensuring that all planned activities are completed on schedule, and participate in defect triage meetings with customers to address any concerns. Excellent communication skills and a strong knowledge of QA concepts are crucial for success in this position.

Responsibilities

• Understand and analyze system requirements to prepare test plan, test design, test specification and test scenarios.
• Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, providing guidance, feedback, and support.
• Define and implement QA strategies and best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Prepare test cases and peer review the test cases created by junior testers.
• Prepare and ensure readiness of test bed and test environment to carry out the test execution.
• Execute tests, analyze test results, and prepare test reports.
• Work with respective teams to resolve issues identified during testing.
• Develop modularized automation framework components.
• Record defects and issues in accordance with the project's defect and issue management plans.
• Manage test activities and ensure the planned test activities are completed as scheduled.
• Participate in defect triage meetings with customers.
• Provide daily reports to Test Lead or Test Manager.

Requirements
