About the position
The Cytology Accessioner/Preparatory Technician will work under the supervision of the Cytology Supervisor to manage the accessioning and preparation of cytology samples. This role involves performing various laboratory procedures, including staining and filing slides, as well as handling administrative tasks related to GYN and Non-GYN order entry. The position is full-time and requires working in-person during the night shift.
Responsibilities
- Accession and prepare cytology samples.
- Stain and file slides accurately.
- Perform daily administrative tasks including GYN and Non-GYN order entry.
- Merge and sort reports as needed.
- Answer phones and assist with inquiries.
- File working drafts and maintain organization in the lab.
Requirements
- Laboratory procedures knowledge.
- Laboratory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Entry-level position suitable for recent graduates or those new to the field.
