Cytotechnologist

About the position

The Cytotechnologist position at BayCare involves evaluating and diagnosing cytological specimens, including both GYN and Non-GYN cases, to support pathologists in their reviews. This full-time role is based at Mease Dunedin Hospital, where the successful candidate will contribute to patient care through accurate cytological assessments and maintain high standards of laboratory practices. Responsibilities

• Evaluates and diagnoses Non-GYN cases for Pathologist review
• Evaluates and diagnoses GYN cases
• Performs Rapid On-Site Evaluations for FNA procedures including EBUS and EUS Guided procedures
• Conducts Robotic assisted Endoscopic procedures, CT Guided and US Guided procedures
• Maintains equipment, supplies, and instrumentation
• Assists in the Cytopreparatory lab as needed
• Demonstrates excellent inter- and intra-departmental communication skills
• Works independently and as part of a team
• Utilizes computer skills appropriate to the position
• Understands medical terminology

Requirements

• ASCP Certified Technologist in Cytology
• State of Florida License Clinical Laboratory Personnel - Cytotechnologist
• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Laboratory experience
• Computer skills

Nice-to-haves

• 2 years Cytology experience
• Hospital experience (not required, training available)
