About the position

As a member of the DFx (Design for Manufacturing) team at Meta, you will play a crucial role in addressing complex challenges that affect the quality, cost, and delivery of future augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) products. Your primary responsibility will be to define and implement best practices that meet the manufacturing challenges associated with the next generation of products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Hardware Engineering, Quality Assurance, Testing, and Manufacturing Partners, to ensure that designs are manufacturable from the initial concept stage through to high-volume mass production. In this role, you will partner with various teams to identify and resolve manufacturing challenges by adhering to DFx best practices and principles. You will conduct detailed CAD reviews to pinpoint manufacturing pain points and propose design alternatives. Additionally, you will identify New Technology Introduction (NTI) manufacturing processes and define the necessary manufacturing processes and equipment requirements at the factory level. Your expertise will provide direction, guidance, and support to other engineering groups and contract manufacturing partners, enabling the development of new and improved manufacturing methods through both theoretical and practical engineering applications. You will also be responsible for synthesizing complex data sets into actionable feedback and lessons learned, driving all Factory Acceptance Test Procedures (FATP) line qualifications activities, and may be required to travel domestically and internationally to support these initiatives. This position is integral to ensuring that Meta's innovative products are not only designed effectively but also manufactured efficiently and at scale.
