About the position

The Daily Visit Coordinator at Alfred University is a key member of the Admissions Operations Team, responsible for coordinating all on-campus visits and serving as the primary point of contact for prospective students and their families. This role involves managing the event schedule, assisting with open house programs, and supporting the Visit Events Coordinator. The position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across various departments to enhance the visitor experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all on-campus visits and manage the event schedule in Slate.
  • Assist in the supervision and training of tour guides and student workers.
  • Provide support for on-campus and virtual open house programs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming lobby environment.
  • Answer incoming calls and assist callers with accurate information or call transferring.
  • Manage the CampusVisits email inbox and respond to inquiries from visitors and coaches.
  • Build relationships with offices outside of admissions to curate individual visit experiences.
  • Collaborate with the Visit Events Coordinator on the events and visits calendar.
  • Communicate confirmations, cancellations, and changes to scheduled visits to appropriate campus offices.
  • Make confirmation calls to families with scheduled visits and follow up on any changes or concerns.
  • Ensure campus safety and attractiveness for visitors by communicating with public safety and facilities.
  • Stay updated on national, statewide, and university-wide policies for visitors on campus.
  • Provide additional clerical or administrative support to the operations team as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; post-secondary educational experience preferred.
  • 2+ years' experience in Higher Education or Hospitality office.
  • Experience in an office setting and expertise with handling confidential information.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of database management.
  • Strong typing skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask in a chaotic environment.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary of $16.00-$17.00 per hour for 35 hours per week.
