About the position

The Dairy Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Dairy Department within a grocery store, working closely with the Grocery Manager. This role includes supervising staff, managing inventory, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining product quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Grocery Manager in directing the operation of the Dairy Department.
• Supervise and train personnel in the Dairy Department.
• Order, receive, store, stock, and manage inventory control for dairy products.
• Encourage a customer-friendly atmosphere with an emphasis on safe and courteous service.
• Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques.
• Plan and organize regular and seasonal merchandise requirements and special sales needs.
• Rotate and face products, clean and dust shelves, and process outdated products.
• Prevent the sale of out-of-code products and manage backroom inventory.
• Assist with grocery department merchandising and building displays.
• Act as a backup cashier when needed.
