About the position

The Dairy Queen - Hospitality Staff position is a vital role within the restaurant, focusing on delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining high standards of food quality and cleanliness. As a Hospitality Staff member, you will be responsible for executing all customer service operations, ensuring that every product prepared meets the restaurant's standards of excellence. This role requires a friendly demeanor and the ability to communicate effectively with both customers and co-workers. You will greet guests as they enter the restaurant or drive-thru, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere from the moment they arrive. In this position, you will initiate and complete customer transactions quickly and accurately, particularly through the drive-thru service. Maintaining an accurate cash drawer throughout your shift is essential, as is the ability to assemble and deliver orders efficiently. Keeping the work area clean and sanitary is a critical function of the job, as is preparing products in accordance with health and safety standards. You will operate and maintain food, drink, and treat-related equipment safely and effectively, ensuring that all preparation and service guidelines are followed. Teamwork is a key component of this role, as you will work closely with your colleagues to ensure consistent quality, service, cleanliness, and value for every customer. This includes performing various cleaning tasks, such as washing counters, tables, and restrooms, as well as managing trash and maintaining the dining and service areas. You may also be required to assist with end-of-day cleaning and other maintenance activities outside the building. Reporting any significant issues to your supervisor promptly is crucial, as is being flexible to perform other duties as requested by management or shift leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate clearly, quickly, and politely with co-workers to ensure correct orders are served to customers.
  • Greet guests as they enter the restaurant or drive-thru.
  • Initiate and complete customer transactions quickly and accurately through the drive-thru.
  • Process customer transactions and maintain an accurate cash drawer throughout the shift.
  • Assemble and deliver orders to customers quickly and efficiently.
  • Keep the entire work area clean and sanitary throughout the shift.
  • Prepare products quickly and accurately, following all preparation, health, and safety standards and guidelines.
  • Operate and maintain food/drink/treat related equipment and registers properly and safely.
  • Complete assigned prep work for stocking and setup of the work area.
  • Stock and execute proper rotation of products.
  • Assist with end-of-day cleaning.
  • Work as a team member to assure constant and consistent quality, service, cleanliness, and value to each customer.
  • Wash counters, tables, restrooms, and trash receptacles; gather trash and remove it from dining/service areas to proper receptacles; sweep, mop, and perform other cleaning tasks.
  • Occasionally be out of the building for parking lot pick-up, trash removal, and other maintenance and cleaning activities.
  • Inform immediate supervisor promptly of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by management staff or shift leaders.
