About the position

The General Manager/Chief Operating Officer (GM/COO) at Dana Point Yacht Club is a leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of the club's operations. The ideal candidate will enhance service standards, foster a positive organizational culture, and improve member and employee experiences. This position requires a dynamic leader with a proven track record in the hospitality industry, particularly in private club environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the club including activities and relationships with the Board of Directors, members, guests, employees, and the community.
• Direct supervision of the Executive Chef, Catering Director, and Club Accountant.
• Develop operating policies and procedures and oversee the work of all department managers.
• Implement and monitor the budget, ensuring maximum member and guest satisfaction.
• Secure and protect the club's assets, including facilities and equipment.
• Develop and implement strategies to achieve financial targets and enhance member satisfaction.
• Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and high performance.
• Collaborate with department heads to ensure smooth operations and high standards across all areas.
• Oversee staff recruitment, training, and development to maintain a high-performing team.
• Initiate and execute capital improvement plans with a strong understanding of project management.

Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in a private club environment.
• Certified Club Manager (CCM) or in active pursuit of designation preferred.
• A bachelor's degree in hospitality or business management preferred.
• Proficient with Jonas and Microsoft Office products.
