About the position
The Space Science Engineer at Amentum will support the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) by providing technical expertise in various areas of space science and technology. This role involves monitoring advanced technology development and prototype demonstration programs, conducting technical assessments, and supporting program management and acquisition efforts. The position requires collaboration with a dynamic team and offers opportunities to engage in innovative technology development.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support in monitoring the execution of advanced technology development and prototype demonstration programs.
- Perform independent technical assessments and feasibility analyses of new technologies and system designs.
- Monitor system field testing and demonstrations.
- Support technical interchange meetings and design reviews.
- Assist in the development of new program concepts and provide program management and acquisition support.
- Author program reports.
Requirements
- BS degree plus 20 years of experience, MS degree plus 10 years of experience, or PhD plus 5 years of experience in relevant Space Systems development programs.
- Experience managing and leading small Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and conducting annual salary reviews for employees.
- Active Top Secret US Government Clearance required; US Citizenship is necessary to obtain this clearance.
- Ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

- Ability to obtain and maintain SCI and SAP US Government eligibility; US Citizenship is required for this eligibility.
