This position manages all activities related to the maintenance and installation of refrigeration equipment and air conditioning systems by performing the duties of a Refrigeration Technician as required and by prioritizing and delegating maintenance assignments to employees on a daily basis. Responsibilities

  • Initiate work orders, requisitions and job orders from inventory stock.
  • Provides input to the development of product strategy and research and development of new and emerging products.
  • Establishes production and quality control standards, develops budget and cost controls, and obtains data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
  • Provides guidance to the development of a manufacturing process plan, including personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract requirements, facility needs, and tooling and equipment needs.
  • Perform administrative duties as applicable- review work orders, expense reports, approve timesheets, review invoicing to ensure accurate billing.
  • Prioritize maintenance jobs and issue job orders to employees for the day.
  • Oversee and inspect the completion of employees' daily duties.
  • Record maintenance work performed daily.
  • Write purchase orders for parts and supplies.
  • Inspect all refrigeration equipment as a preventive measure.
  • Supervise the examining of all refrigeration, A/C, and heating systems being serviced.
  • Work with contractor on company projects.
  • Ensure that all established cost, quality, and delivery commitments are met.
  • Ensure that employees comply with all safety rules, regulations, and guidelines; make on the spot correction of unsafe acts.
  • Be on call at all times. Perform service work as needed and work with techs at locations during difficult troubleshooting.
  • Perform related tasks as required.
  • Establish clear customer service expectations and performance expectations.
  • Make firm clear commitments to customers and follow through.
  • Improvement and expanding of services team through proper training in both customer service and technical matters.
  • Maintain adequate staffing to ensure a proper balance between providing prompt service and maximizing percent of billable work hours.
  • Maintain knowledge of current industry standards, new technologies, and current regulatory policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts, such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Universal Refrigeration Certificate.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • 1-2 years' of refrigeration experience.
  • Working knowledge of refrigeration equipment, tools, and refrigerants.
  • Working knowledge of silver solder tools.
  • Working knowledge of normal shop equipment and hand tools.
  • Working knowledge of all electrical phases and voltage.
