About the position

The Dash/UI Developer position at Apex Systems involves developing web-based GUI applications using Python and Plotly Dash. The role requires a strong background in Python development, particularly in creating interactive applications, and experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The developer will work in an Agile environment, collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure high-quality software deliverables through test-driven development and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop web-based GUI applications using Python and Plotly Dash.
• Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and stakeholders in an Agile environment.
• Implement test-driven development and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) practices.
• Build Flask API and Plotly Dash applications on Google Cloud Platform.
• Utilize Postgres Database and BigQuery for data management.
• Work with ETL or ELT tools and processes in Python/PySpark and SQL.
• Containerize applications using Docker and manage GCP development, debugging, and deployment.

Requirements

• 8 to 10+ years of overall experience in Software Engineering.
• 5 to 7+ years of experience in Python development.
• Proficiency in building Flask API and Plotly Dash applications on Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with Postgres Database and BigQuery.
• Experience with ETL or ELT tools and processes in Python/PySpark and SQL.
• Experience in Docker containerization and GCP development, debugging, and deployment.
• Experience with test-driven development tools and processes, including unit tests, pytest, and mock.
• Experience with CI/CD development using tools like GitHub, Tekton, CloudBuild, and Terraform.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in GUI testing with Plotly Dash testing, Selenium, and Playwright.
• Experience in writing JavaScript.
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow, Cloud Composer, Prefect, and data transformation tools like DBT.
• Experience with application monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk.
• Ability to leverage AI technology in software development (e.g., ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot).
• Experience in writing FastAPI applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
