About the position

The Data Acquisition Technician at Keller North America, Inc. is responsible for developing, maintaining, and repairing electrical components for specialized construction activities and equipment. This role involves installing, modifying, and troubleshooting the program setup of data acquisition systems on mobile drilling equipment. The position is based out of Keller's Miami, FL office and requires a hands-on approach to ensure the functionality and reliability of various electrical systems used in the field. In this role, the technician will be tasked with troubleshooting and testing various designed systems, building electrical control panels, and assembling electrical components on heavy equipment, drill rigs, and pumps. The technician will also be responsible for assembling and installing equipment both at the shop facility and at various project job sites. A key aspect of the job includes reading electrical signals via software interfacing with Keller's data acquisition systems, as well as repairing industrial generators, air compressors, and troubleshooting high voltage variable frequency drives as needed. The technician will need to read, interpret, and analyze technical data from Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and efficiently troubleshoot instrumentation and control systems while being able to read electrical schematics. Safety and quality assurance are paramount, and the technician must ensure compliance with all Keller and OSHA safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and test various designed systems.
  • Build electrical control panels and assemble electrical components on heavy equipment, drill rigs, and pumps.
  • Assemble and install equipment at the shop facility and at various project job sites.
  • Troubleshoot by reading electrical signals via software interfacing with Keller's data acquisition systems.
  • Repair industrial generators, air compressors, and troubleshoot high voltage variable frequency drives as needed.
  • Read, interpret, and analyze technical data from PLCs.
  • Efficiently troubleshoot instrumentation and control systems, and read electrical schematics.
  • Ensure compliance with all Keller and OSHA safety requirements.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years relevant experience in a related field.
  • 2-year degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or similar field experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and analyze technical data from PLCs.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical controls, process controllers, and signal conditioning is preferred.
  • Familiarity with National Instruments hardware, LabVIEW, and AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Experience with sensors or instrumentation is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent computer, written, and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • Basic equipment-related technical knowledge and hands-on electrical experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience or working knowledge of wireless radios is a huge plus.
  • Self-starter attitude and ability to work well with others in the field.
