The Data Analyst (BI Developer and Automation) position at First Citizens Bank is a remote role focused on gathering, organizing, and analyzing large data sets to ensure data quality and compliance with regulations. The role supports the Enterprise Risk Management team by delivering critical data and reporting products that aid in establishing a mature risk program. The analyst will collaborate with various teams to provide insights that assist management in making informed business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Gathers, organizes, and sorts data to develop moderately complex data models for stakeholders.
• Accesses structured and unstructured systems across the organization, utilizing coding efforts to meet testing requirements.
• Communicates findings effectively and in a timely manner.
• Develops and maintains databases and systems ensuring data is organized and readable.
• Removes corrupted data and corrects coding errors as needed.
• Troubleshoots department information systems in a timely manner.
• Identifies process improvement opportunities and proposes system modifications.
• Analyzes and produces reporting for management regarding the Bank's risks and trends.
• Assists senior management with committee presentations and risk assessments.
• Provides support for technical inquiries by coordinating with vendors or internal experts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Banking or related industry OR High School Diploma and 8 years of experience in Banking or related industry.
• Spreadsheet and database knowledge.
• Ability to analyze and visualize large data sets.
• Ability to create and apply algorithms to datasets.
• Knowledge of programming languages including SQL, Oracle, R, MATLAB, Python.
• Proficiency in statistics and statistical applications used for data analysis.
• Proficiency in SQL.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Tableau or PowerBI.
• 5+ years experience in Risk Management.
