About the position

The Data Analyst C will support ongoing whole-genome-wide high-throughput DNA-Seq and functional genomics projects. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity and quality of genomic data, which is essential for advancing research in the field of genetics and genomics. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving, reviewing, and processing primary and secondary sequencing data from various collaborators and genotyping facilities. This includes a thorough assessment of the quality of whole genome and functional genomics data using standard pipelines defined by specific research projects. In addition to data processing, the Data Analyst C will contribute to the intake and management of genetics and functional genomics data. This involves curating genetics data records from relevant literature into a specialized database developed and maintained by the National Institute on Aging Genetics of Alzheimer's Disease Data Storage Site (NIAGADS). The role also requires maintaining comprehensive data records, documentation, and access protocols to ensure that all data is organized and easily retrievable for ongoing research efforts. This position is contingent upon grant funding, and the successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with a team of researchers and data scientists to support the overarching goals of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
