About the position

The Data Analyst C position at the University of Pennsylvania's Immune Health Institute involves working within a multidisciplinary team to develop, maintain, and deploy analysis pipelines that generate actionable insights from large-scale immunological datasets. The role requires collaboration with programmers, immunologists, and clinicians to support day-to-day operations and analytics pipeline development, with a focus on quality control and data interpretation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a detailed understanding of existing pipelines for quality control, analysis, and interpretation of immunological data.
  • Contribute code to new pipelines and functionalities.
  • Prepare results in written, tabular, and graphical summaries to help stakeholders make decisions and support publications.
  • Communicate frequently with the team to ensure that the computational work reflects biological and clinical goals, including generating reports tracking project progress.
  • Be flexible and adapt workflows to shifting priorities and requirements.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in computer science or a quantitative discipline with at least 2-3 years of experience in data analysis, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with data wrangling and analytics in R.
  • Good understanding of data structures and algorithms.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, including written documentation and data visualization.
  • Interest in developing a basic fluency in the assays and data types used for immunology research.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Python, C++, or the command line.
  • Experience working with single-cell cytometry, transcriptomics, genomics, or related biological data.
