About the position

The Data Analyst at the College of Medicine - Tucson plays a vital role in enhancing academic programs through analytical expertise and data-driven insights. This position focuses on designing and managing data dashboards, collaborating with stakeholders, and supporting student assessment and program evaluation systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong statistical analysis skills and proficiency in visualization software, particularly Power BI, while working both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data analysis to identify patterns and trends to improve the medical education program.
  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards using Power BI from multiple data sources.
  • Collaborate with faculty and stakeholders to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and create dashboards.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility in reports and dashboards.
  • Engage with academic leaders to understand data needs and provide actionable insights.
  • Provide training and support to stakeholders on dashboard usage and interpretation.
  • Assist in the design and management of student assessment and program evaluation processes.
  • Analyze student performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with curriculum committees to evaluate program effectiveness and recommend enhancements.
  • Contribute to the development of systems ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.
  • Monitor compliance metrics and generate reports for stakeholders.
  • Support the development and maintenance of a comprehensive longitudinal dataset.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning through professional experience required.
  • Three years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
  • Advanced skills in statistical methods and data management.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis using software such as Excel, R, and Python.
  • Proficiency in visualization software, particularly Power BI.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Data Science or a combination of education and relevant experience.
