About the position

The Data Analyst, Finance Operations is a highly visible and critical position being added to the Finance function at Capital Rx. The person in this position will provide support for all value-added services, clinical programs, and other upsell services for Capital Rx. This role will play an important part in defining, building out, and expanding the other Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) services for the enterprise. This will include data mining, KPI creation and management, and operational workflows for various departments. The Data Analyst will help provide valuable insights that will be used to assess the performance of Capital Rx and drive change within the company. In this role, the Data Analyst will oversee analytics to support ongoing operational needs and collaborate with department leaders from key functional areas such as contact center, client services, and clinical operations. The analyst will design, refine, automate, and maintain data analytics for invoicing purposes. Additionally, they will develop ad hoc and standard reports to support both internal and external analytics and reporting needs. The position requires managing the workflow for inbound and outbound data requests, reporting deliverables, and other inquiries. The Data Analyst will be responsible for cleaning, collecting, organizing, and drawing insights from client, vendor, and internal data, primarily using SQL or Excel, with Python and/or R as needed. They will assist in writing and maintaining Finance SQL queries, thoroughly understand data fields, identify patterns of data irregularities, and improve data quality and intake. Furthermore, the analyst will assist with finance functions, including bi-monthly AR/AP cycles, quarterly rebate processes, and annual reconciliations, while also suggesting process refinements and collaboration enhancements for data and other related underwriting items. Adherence to the Capital Rx Code of Conduct is essential, including the reporting of noncompliance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee analytics to support ongoing operations needs
  • Collaborate with department leaders from key functional areas to design, refine, automate, and maintain data analytics for invoicing purposes
  • Develop ad hoc and standard reports to support internal and external analytics and reporting needs
  • Manage workflow for inbound and outbound data requests, reporting deliverables, and other inquiries
  • Clean, collect, organize, and draw insights from client, vendor, and internal data using mainly SQL or Excel
  • Assist in the writing and maintenance of the Finance SQL queries
  • Thoroughly understand data fields, identify patterns of data irregularities, and improve data quality and intake
  • Assist with finance function consisting of bi-monthly AR/AP cycles, quarterly rebate processes, annual reconciliations and improve processes as needed
  • Help in building out and codifying billing structures, refining and automating processes
  • Suggest process refinement and collaboration enhancement for data and other related underwriting items
  • Responsible for adherence to the Capital Rx Code of Conduct including reporting of noncompliance

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a closely related field (equivalent relevant work experience may be considered)
  • PBM / health plan experience required
  • 3+ years of proven experience in data & analytics
  • Experience performing complex analyses on large sets of data
  • Knowledge of data management, statistics, modeling
  • Experience working with structured and unstructured data
  • Proficient in SQL and Excel; Knowledge of Python or R for data analysis is a plus
  • Ability to balance multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Extremely flexible, highly organized, and able to shift priorities easily
  • Attention to detail & commitment to delivering high quality work product

Nice-to-haves
