About the position

The Data Analyst position at Oak View Group is a pivotal role that leverages extensive data assets to assist business leaders in solving complex problems. This in-venue role primarily supports the Footprint Center and other venues in the southwest, focusing on analyzing food and beverage programs, internal and external data, and providing actionable recommendations to enhance decision-making aligned with client goals.

Responsibilities

• Collects and provides analysis of relevant reports and insights concerning current and potential markets as well as performance and industry trends for the Food & Hospitality industry.
• Develops and pursues ongoing in-depth knowledge of the industry, sharing insights, trends, benchmarking, and best practices.
• Combines data from disparate sources to complete analysis and builds processes to automate data collection for future longitudinal studies.
• Participates in strategic initiatives like business development or new lines of business.
• Pursues a variety of issues ranging from understanding customers and vendors to ensure profitable product management.
• Communicates analysis to senior leaders and clients using plain language with minimal oversight.
• Manages competing priorities both planned and ad-hoc.
• Acts as a subject matter expert in one or more data subject areas.
• Contributes at industry events or conventions to be an ambassador for SPAN-360.
• Generates actionable insights from large data sets that add value to the business.

Requirements

• In-depth understanding of complex SQL and statistical methods.
• Experience and comfort with multiple Business Intelligence tools.
• Moderate to advanced Microsoft Office knowledge, particularly in Excel.
• A passion for finding creative and simple solutions for complex problems.
• 3-5 years of work experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or statistics.
• Minimum BS degree in Statistics, Data Analytics, Business, or a similar field.
