About the position

As a Data Analyst I at Cisco, you will play a pivotal role in transforming the organization into a data-driven digital entity. You will collaborate across various functions including Customer Experience, Sales, Marketing, and IT, leveraging your analytical skills to develop and implement models that enhance decision-making processes. Your work will focus on utilizing real-time connected data, machine learning, and automation to provide a personalized experience for customers throughout their lifecycle with Cisco. This role is essential in driving improvements in recurring revenue, cost savings, and sales effectiveness for both Cisco and its partners. In this position, you will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets using statistical techniques. You will provide ongoing reports and dashboards that will inform business strategies. Collaboration is key; you will work closely with business and IT teams to understand specific use cases and consolidate them into a unified approach. Additionally, you will lead multi-functional teams to uncover data relationships and define processes for data privacy and protection, ensuring that security measures are in place. Your passion for transforming complex data into actionable insights will be crucial. You will connect with data scientists, engineers, product managers, and executives to deliver high-quality analytics that can be integrated into various workflows. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who thrives in collaborative environments and is committed to continuous learning in the field of data analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in sophisticated data sets using statistical techniques.
  • Provide ongoing reports and dashboards to inform business strategies.
  • Collaborate with business and IT teams to understand different persona-specific use cases and consolidate them into a common approach.
  • Lead multi-functional teams to realize data relationships through proper threading.
  • Define data privacy and protection processes and implement systems that enforce security.
  • Assess the efficiency and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
  • Transform complex data into information, information into insight, and insight into business decisions.

Requirements

  • Graduate or upcoming graduate of a technical degree or certification program from a Technical Boot Camp, Apprenticeship, Community College, or 4-year University.
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience or recent graduate in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in Python, Python libraries, and R, with strong skills in statistical analysis and data visualization.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Ability to legally live and work in the country for which you are applying, without visa support or sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with big-data platforms such as Hadoop or Spark.
  • Familiarity with programming languages like Java, Scala, or C++.
  • Exposure to Machine Learning concepts.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Computing Platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure).
