About the position

The Data Analyst II at HCA Healthcare plays a crucial role in supporting the Clinical Services Group (CSG) leadership and other service lines by providing in-depth reporting and analytics. This position focuses on data extraction, modeling, and metric development to identify opportunities and inform clinical or operational initiatives. The analyst will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to deliver high-quality reports and insights that drive clinical quality and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Support Clinical Services Group leadership by providing in-depth reporting and analytics.
  • Document technical requirements and perform data extraction and modeling.
  • Develop actionable reports using reporting/BI platforms, primarily PowerBI.
  • Write intermediate to advanced SQL queries to extract and model data from multiple databases.
  • Communicate data quality issues to clinical or ITG stakeholders effectively.
  • Aggregate and clean data from various sources for analysis and visualization.
  • Create efficiencies in data reporting and analytics through automation.
  • Prepare analysis plans and write detailed specifications based on stakeholder requirements.
  • Validate and troubleshoot data discrepancies using SQL queries.
  • Lead small to mid-scale projects independently with oversight as needed.
  • Interpret and present results clearly to executive-level audiences.
  • Perform testing and create documentation for dashboard products.
  • Support colleagues in data interpretation and outcomes measurement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 2-5 years of experience as a data, business, or financial analyst.
  • Intermediate to advanced SQL skills for data extraction and modeling.
  • Proficiency in R or Python for data analysis and automation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong desire to find solutions to problems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Healthcare Data Analyst experience preferred.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau and PowerBI.
