About the position

The Data Analyst III in Healthcare Analytics at Centene Corporation is responsible for analyzing extensive datasets to derive insights that influence business decisions and improve clinical outcomes for members. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to identify value areas, developing solutions, and delivering insights aimed at reducing overall care costs.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze integrated datasets to extract value impacting business decisions.
  • Interpret and analyze data from multiple sources including claims and member data.
  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot complex scripts and reports using SQL and Excel.
  • Contribute to planning and execution of large-scale projects with limited direction.
  • Assist in designing, testing, and implementing process enhancements and automation opportunities.
  • Perform root-cause analysis of data irregularities and present findings to leadership.
  • Manage multiple tasks and data review processes with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrate ownership over projects and understand the business value of tasks.
  • Apply expertise in quantitative analysis and data mining to understand customer interactions.
  • Communicate findings and insights effectively to non-technical business partners.
  • Engage with customers to gather requirements and validate results.
  • Present data-driven insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior analysts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, statistics, mathematics, or related field; Master's preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience with large databases and data management, or 2+ years of IT experience.
  • Healthcare analytics experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and querying languages.
  • Preferred knowledge of Python and R programming languages.
  • Knowledge of statistical, analytical, or data mining techniques.
  • Preferred knowledge of business intelligence tools like Microsoft PowerBI.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in healthcare analytics.
  • Familiarity with programmatic coding languages such as Python and R.
