About the position

The Data Analyst III plays a crucial role in analyzing complex financial and healthcare data to identify trends and create insightful reports, dashboards, and visualizations that support enterprise-wide business analytics. This position emphasizes the importance of data storytelling and quality assurance in reporting, while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes, prepares, and reports on financial performance of contracts including delegated risk, specialty and ancillary capitation, and referral trends and utilization data.
  • Synthesizes large amounts of data and applies advanced analytic methodologies for concise and accurate reporting.
  • Interprets business needs and provides reporting and data storytelling insights for customers.
  • Develops and maintains quality assurance (QA) processes across the enterprise for consistent application.
  • Identifies opportunities for optimization and presents potential solutions to the team.
  • Maintains confidentiality and ensures compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in health administration, business administration, statistics, finance, business analytics or related field preferred or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience performing data analytics, with at least 3 years in the healthcare or financial industries.
  • 2+ years of Power BI experience.
  • 3+ years' experience with SQL.
  • Ability to develop complex reports using company-approved reporting tools (SSRS/SSIS, Excel, Power BI).
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases and database theories and concepts.
  • In-depth experience in developing metrics, identifying trends, and using complex analytical and financial modeling techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
