About the position

The Data Analyst Intern position at WPS Health Solutions offers a unique opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in data analysis within the healthcare sector. Interns will engage in various responsibilities related to Medicare claims and data analysis, while also participating in a collaborative project aimed at developing resources for future interns. This role emphasizes learning about corporate culture, enhancing analytical skills, and presenting findings to senior executives at the conclusion of the internship.

Responsibilities

• Learn about Medicare and health insurance claims, including claim, provider, and beneficiary detailed information.
• Gain access to the One PI Medicare claims database with specialized training regarding database structure and querying best practices.
• Perform ad hoc data requests for operational areas and their Medicare contract requirements.
• Participate in quality assurance reviews of peer data requests.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in higher education or a recent graduate.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with data analysis tools or software.
• Familiarity with healthcare data or Medicare processes.
