Data Analyst Lead

About the position

The Data Analyst Lead position at Colorado Springs Utilities involves leading a team of data analysts in transforming, modeling, visualizing, and analyzing data related to the utility's four-service infrastructure. The role focuses on expanding analytics, digital transformation, and business process automation, while ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong data visualization and analysis skills, and will be responsible for mentoring junior analysts and delivering high-value solutions with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret complex datasets and prepare visuals to inform decision-making.
• Gather requirements and information from stakeholders to pull, transform, model, and analyze data.
• Communicate results from analyses to non-technical audiences in an understandable manner.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations and best practices.
• Harvest and clean data to ensure accuracy of results and information.
• Lead projects and influence contributors to drive quality.
• Deliver high-value solutions with minimal supervision.
• Mentor junior analysts and provide coaching and technical leadership.

Requirements

• Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform is highly desired.
• Relevant and progressively responsible experience with data visualization, modeling, transformation, analysis, and/or extraction.
• Experience with basic project management fundamentals.
• Knowledge of and experience with database structures.
• Experience with iterative development processes.
• Experience with ETL principles and data architecture concepts.
• Ability to analyze complex business needs and create solutions that deliver value.
