About the position

Cydecor is seeking a Data Analyst to join the Navy Readiness Reporting Enterprise Business Intelligence (NRRE-BI) team. This role involves leveraging modern analytics tools to create dashboards, reports, and data-driven decision-support products for government customers. The Data Analyst will collaborate with various stakeholders to define and execute tasks aligned with customer requirements, requiring strong communication skills and a commitment to learning the Navy's business domain and agile development methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations that provide actionable insights and support business decision-making.
• Use business analytics tools to build and deliver data-driven solutions.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to define objectives, KPIs, and report/dashboard requirements.
• Apply querying languages such as SQL and scripting languages like Python or R to analyze and process data.
• Combine data analysis with subject-matter expertise to deliver insightful, actionable recommendations.
• Participate in brainstorming, refining, and planning activities to develop and manage requirements.
• Commit to iterative development, testing hypotheses, and adapting solutions as needed.
• Research customer concepts, capture requirements, and analyze information.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years in business analysis or a similar role requiring research, analysis, and critical thinking.
• Proficiency in Qlik Sense preferred, with willingness to learn if experienced with other tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, IBM Cognos).
• Strong skills in Excel, including Power Query and Power Query M formula language.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience working with structured data.
• Experience collecting and transforming data.
• Strong ability to identify trends, patterns, and relationships in data.
• Critical assessment of data to uncover meaningful insights.
• Proficient in explaining data insights and recommendations clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Skill in creating compelling visualizations and reports to support storytelling.
