About the position

The Business Development Data Analyst plays a crucial role in maintaining data consistency and building data visualizations that support the venue and event management business at OVG. This position requires collaboration with subject matter experts from various business units, including Ticketing, Food & Beverage, Transportation & Mobility, and Finance, to analyze core KPIs and deliver actionable insights that enhance business decision-making. The analyst will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of incoming data and the resulting dashboards, which are essential for effective reporting and analysis. In this role, the analyst will design, maintain, and optimize data visualizations and self-service tools that provide insights into business performance. They will work closely with third-party data integration teams to ingest new data sources and incorporate them into existing visualizations. Additionally, the analyst will prepare financial analyses using Microsoft Excel to uncover trends and identify new project opportunities. Communication of findings will be key, as the analyst will present insights to department and business leaders through formal presentations and standard reporting on a periodic basis. The analyst will also partner with enterprise data architects to define the data requirements for business intelligence visualizations and tools, championing the utilization of business intelligence technology across functional roles throughout the organization. This position offers a salary range of $80,000 to $100,000, plus bonuses, and is open until November 1, 2024.

Responsibilities

  • Meet routinely with subject matter experts from OVG's venues to deliver against their business intelligence needs.
  • Design, maintain, and optimize data visualizations and other self-service tools to provide actionable insights.
  • Ensure accuracy of incoming data and resulting dashboards.
  • Work with third-party data integration teams to ingest new data sources and incorporate them into existing visualizations.
  • Prepare financial analysis in Microsoft Excel to uncover trends and new project opportunities.
  • Communicate findings to department and business leaders via formal presentations and provide standard reporting on a periodic basis.
  • Partner with enterprise data architects to define data requirements of business intelligence visualizations and tools.
  • Champion the utilization of business intelligence technology across functional roles throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience in Analytics or statistics.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related discipline.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and proficiency using Microsoft PowerPoint and/or Keynote.
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical abilities.
  • Self-starter with ability to solve ambiguous and open-ended business challenges.
  • Skilled at manipulating and managing databases, spreadsheets and queries, and generating KPIs into terms that can be understood by a broader audience.
  • Ability to adapt to new tasks with little notice, and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice-to-haves

  • Project experience in Statistics, Research, Project Management and Business Intelligence is a plus.
  • Experience with SQL, Python, Tableau and/or Power BI is a plus.
