About the position

As a Data Analyst for the product team at Poshmark, you will provide analytical insights to various teams, particularly focusing on Search & Discovery and commerce product areas. Your role will involve collaborating with business and engineering stakeholders to drive actionable insights that enhance business value. You will be responsible for monitoring metrics, conducting exploratory data analysis, and developing key performance indicators to evaluate business performance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytics support and data insights to major product areas at Poshmark, including Search & Discovery, Commerce, and New Products.
  • Deliver data-driven insights that lead to actionable business recommendations for key stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Understand and meet the analytics needs of stakeholders on a continual basis.
  • Monitor existing metrics, analyze data, and identify opportunities for improvement in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and stakeholders to design experiments and drive recommendations to support business outcomes.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, correlations, and insights.
  • Develop new or improve existing key metrics and performance indicators to evaluate business performance.
  • Work independently while demonstrating creativity and delivering quick results, maintaining a team-player attitude.
  • Maintain documentation to ensure inventory of all key findings from trends and growth opportunities.
  • Perform extensive QA to ensure the quality and integrity of data.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of analytics experience.
  • Strong data mining skills using SQL with proficiency in Excel.
  • Exposure and familiarity with Python, R, and Spark SQL preferred.
  • Understanding of data modeling concepts and experience in building new data warehouse tables.
  • Experience in gathering requirements and formulating business metrics for reporting.
  • Experience with data visualization through Looker or similar tools is preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic statistical concepts with emphasis on statistical hypothesis testing (t-tests, z-tests, etc.).
  • Experience with product A/B and multivariate testing is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate data at an appropriate level for the audience.
  • Detail-oriented with expertise in both qualitative and quantitative analysis, strong storytelling and presentation skills.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to apply it critically towards solving problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data visualization tools other than Looker.
  • Familiarity with additional programming languages or data analysis tools.
