About the position

The Project Manager/Data Analyst at Smiths Detection is responsible for managing and executing data-driven projects that enhance business processes and support strategic decision-making. Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple data-centric projects from initiation to closure, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, including schedules, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of data insights into business processes.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all projects.
  • Prepare and present reports and dashboards to senior leadership, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring that potential issues are addressed proactively.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by leveraging data to optimize business operations.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, translating business needs into technical requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred and may be substituted for experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in project management, with a focus on data analysis and business intelligence.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, R, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies (Black belt, Agile, Waterfall).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications in data analysis tools or methodologies (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Python, R) are a plus.
