About the position

The Data Analyst for Quality Data Analytics (QDA) at San Francisco Health Plan (SFHP) plays a crucial role in overseeing the analysis and reporting of data that supports Quality Initiatives in Health Services. This position aims to enhance the use of data in clinical decision-making and improve data quality by identifying gaps that affect Health Services Quality Initiatives, including Quality Improvement. The role involves collaboration with clinical staff and the ITS Department, and it requires a hybrid work environment with a minimum of four days in the office each month.

Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate data analysis, trending, and reporting.
  • Resolve data quality issues affecting HEDIS performance and other Quality Initiatives.
  • Validate business requirements for the exchange of data between healthcare systems.
  • Identify new ways to integrate existing data sources or reports from various internal or external partners supporting the programs managed by the Quality Data Analytics team.
  • Develop reports using the Quality Reporter and Jiva applications.
  • Ensure the integrity of data being reported and used is accurate and valid.
  • Work with users and other partners to achieve mutually agreeable deliverables, timeframes, resources, and outcomes.
  • Serve as liaison with Data Management, Business Analytics, and other ITS teams for any changes or updates in data exchanges.
  • Coordinate small projects following standardized project management methodologies.
  • Coordinate materials for SFHP committees and meetings that have direct impact on the programs managed by the Quality Data Analytics team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, Business, Public Health, or other relevant areas or equivalent work experience.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in health plan operations, healthcare clinical/data quality improvement, direct patient care, or other experience directly related to position responsibilities and knowledge.
  • Experience with healthcare data sets affecting quality initiative and measures including HEDIS, Member, Provider, Claims, Encounter, Lab, Electronic Health Record (EHR), and Pharmacy data.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL including report development.
  • Familiarity with managed care terminology, Medi-Cal and Medicare.
  • Familiarity with technologies including Cotiviti Quality Reporter, QNXT, and Jiva.
