About the position

As a key member of the Quality department at Humanscale, you will be responsible for reviewing customer complaints to ensure data integrity and analyzing various data related to departmental performance. Your role will involve generating quality metrics, preparing presentations, and effectively communicating results to stakeholders. You will strive to assist the Quality department in the preparation of reports, graphical analysis, and other related duties assigned by your supervisor. In this position, you will critically review product and process quality complaints to identify key information. You will interface with complaint initiators to obtain pertinent details required for supporting Quality functions. Evaluating complaints for potential safety issues, new product issues, manufacturing issues, and misclassification will be essential, as well as providing timely escalations of issues to the Quality department. Regular analysis and trending of complaint data will be necessary to identify new issues as they arise. You will monitor evaluation data of returned goods and ensure that complete documentation is followed as per established standard procedures. Your ability to refine complaints data into meaningful statistics and information will be crucial, as you will summarize analysis to enable management review of product and process performance. Additionally, you will facilitate the preparation and production of analysis and reports as assigned or requested, adhering to format, content, and style guidelines while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and quality. Being proactive in identifying trends in data and reporting them to your manager will be part of your responsibilities. You will contribute ideas and suggestions to improve processes and product performance based on observed field failures. Timely management of all complaints, reports, and presentations will be expected, along with extracting weekly and monthly quality data and maintaining department records and files as required. Supporting cross-functional teams and stakeholder groups on ad-hoc data analysis and queries will also be part of your role, as will preparing presentations summarizing major external and internal issues, costs of poor quality trends, and complaint trends, distributing reports to various interoffice departments, and communicating needs and requests to other team members as appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Critically review product and process quality complaints to identify key information.
  • Interface with complaint initiators to obtain pertinent details required for supporting Quality functions.
  • Evaluate complaints for potential safety issues, new product issues, manufacturing issues, misclassification, and provide timely escalations of issues to the Quality department.
  • Analyze and trend complaint data regularly to identify new issues as necessary.
  • Monitor evaluation data of returned goods and ensure complete documentation is followed as per established standard procedures.
  • Refine complaints data into meaningful statistics/information; with summarized analysis to enable management review of product and process performance.
  • Facilitate to prepare and produce analysis and reports as assigned or requested.
  • Adhere to format, content and style guidelines, giving consideration to usability and ensuring accuracy, consistency, and quality.
  • Check data for accuracy of complaints by researching historical issues, corrective actions, order details, BOMs, and update complaint and product coding to maintain data accuracy.
  • Be conscious of complaints being reviewed and proactively look for trends in data and report to manager accordingly.
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions to improve processes and product performance based on observed field failures.
  • Ensure timely management of all complaints, reports, and presentations.
  • Extract weekly and monthly quality data and maintain department records/files as required.
  • Support cross-functional teams and stakeholder groups on ad-hoc data analysis, data queries, in support of product and process performance.
  • Prepare presentations summarizing major external issues, internal issues, costs of poor quality trends, complaint trends, and distribute reports to various interoffice departments.
  • Communicate needs and requests to other team members as appropriate.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or related field.
  • A minimum of 1 to 3 years of complaint evaluation and data analysis experience in a Quality role.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Highly disciplined and motivated self-starter.
  • Ability to review extensive complaint information, trend, analyze, and report data using databases and/or Excel with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to write and communicate effectively, including generating and presenting well-written reports and presentations is required.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities is required.
  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required, Access a plus.
  • Experience with Minitab preferred.
  • Possesses good verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
  • Experience in an admin/support services roles, with experience in data analysis is desired.
  • Excellent follow up skills required.
  • Good command over written and spoken English, Spanish a plus.
