The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking a dedicated Data Analyst to join the Barbara Davis Center, which is the largest diabetes institute in the world specializing in type 1 diabetes research and care. This position will involve collaboration with several faculty members in the Adult Division on a variety of research studies, including investigator-initiated, industry-sponsored, and non-profit-sponsored studies from organizations such as the National Institutes of Health, Helmsley Charitable Trust, JDRF, and the American Diabetes Association. The primary focus of these studies is on the etiology, treatment, and complications of type 1 diabetes. As a member of the data management and analytics team, the Data Analyst will play a crucial role in managing and analyzing data to support these important research initiatives. Key responsibilities include planning and conducting statistical analysis and reporting for investigators, which encompasses work on grants, abstracts, presentations, and manuscripts. The Data Analyst will be responsible for programming analytic software to merge data from various sources and formats, designing data cleaning plans, implementing data quality assurance plans, and maintaining accurate documentation of all processes. Additionally, the role involves programming automated reporting templates using SAS or other software, running and modifying R programs to analyze large datasets related to diabetes technology, and performing statistical analysis for large complex epidemiological studies. The Data Analyst will also contribute to the development of research questions, design analysis plans, and draft manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications and grant proposals. Participation in statistical analysis training classes and seminars is expected to ensure that analysis techniques are current and that the team is utilizing the latest modeling technologies and software. Furthermore, the Data Analyst will provide mentoring for investigators, research staff, and student analysts in study design and statistical analysis, fostering a collaborative and educational environment within the team.
