About the position

The Data Analyst (SME) position at BAE Systems involves supporting a key government customer by delivering engineering services for network infrastructure and enterprise computing. The role focuses on transforming data into actionable intelligence, ensuring security and governance on the Splunk SOAR platform, and collaborating with leadership to enhance network performance through data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Support the enterprise data analytics group in developing and maintaining security and governance for multi-tenancy on the Splunk SOAR platform.
• Analyze IT enterprise data from desktops, servers, network devices, and applications to identify issues.
• Utilize and configure key performance indicators (KPIs) and glass tables using Splunk IT Service Intelligence (ITSI).
• Brief external customers and sponsor leadership on data analysis related to network performance.
• Work with various cloud and on-premises system configurations.
• Track work and log potential threats and issues using ticketing systems like JIRA and ServiceNow.

Requirements

• Minimum of 16 years of experience in data analysis.
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree preferred, but can be waived with direct support experience to the customer’s agency.
• Experience with IT enterprise data analysis.
• Proficiency in utilizing and configuring KPIs and glass tables in Splunk ITSI.
• Experience in briefing customers and leadership on data analysis and network performance.
• Familiarity with cloud and on-premises system configurations.
• Experience with ticketing systems such as JIRA and ServiceNow.

Nice-to-haves

• Splunk certification.
• Strong background with Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Enterprise Security.
• Ability to interpret, modify, and create scripts using Python or Shell.
