About the position

The Data Analyst Specialist position at Genesis10 is a 9-month contract role within the SF CFO Change management group of the SF Finance organization. This hybrid position involves onsite work from Tuesday to Thursday and focuses on data analysis, requirements gathering, and user acceptance testing for finance and accounting applications. The role is crucial for coordinating with project teams, resolving application issues, and assisting management with project schedules and resource allocation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead data requirements analysis and data analysis for financial accounting applications.
  • Define and review business requirements to capture customer needs.
  • Facilitate data requirements and data flow analysis, resolving obstacles that arise.
  • Collaborate with various teams to understand business needs and identify relevant data sources.
  • Recommend best practices for database design, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Create and review logical and physical data models using data modeling software.
  • Validate data structure and modeling for effective use and understanding.
  • Gather data from various sources and prepare it for analysis.
  • Develop comprehensive reports summarizing key findings and actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Write complex SQL queries to extract data from relational databases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Accounting related field.
  • 5-8 years of extensive data analysis experience.
  • SQL experience with databases such as DB2, Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server, or Mongo.
  • Demonstrated data/business analysis experience throughout the project lifecycle using Agile methodology.
  • Ability to support multiple concurrent projects in various capacities.
  • Experience with Agile/Modern delivery methodology.
  • Python experience is a plus.
  • Scrum/Agile certification is a plus.
