About the position

Analyzes data, assesses trends and develops actionable insights and recommendations in support of enterprise-wide strategic business initiatives. Develops the analytics community at Vanguard by coaching others internally and participating in external events. Vanguard's Growth Analytics Team supports essential Marketing Analytics to help transform Marketing in our Personal Investor space.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Sr Specialist Data Analyst, focusing on the highest value solutions - Differentiators and Strategy Accelerants to help Marketing transform their business.
  • Frequent interaction and consultation with product owners, engagement strategists, communications and operations specialists and leaders throughout Marketing to solve complex issues and provide actionable insights and solutions.
  • Serve as data and analytics domain expert and advisor. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to marketing data analysts.
  • Gather and evaluate data from multiple sources to extract trends and business insights, translating findings into clear, compelling, and actionable solutions and narratives.
  • Handle deep data investigation, audience identification, segmentation, profiling, opportunity sizing, client behavior analytics, targeting, experimental design, forecasting and treatment results attribution and measurement.
  • Identify and lead process and data improvement opportunities. Develop and organize documentation to fuel team effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Engage with internal partners to understand business strategy, questions and goals. Bring structure to business requests, translate requirements into an analytical project approach, and lead complex projects through completion.
  • Acquire and compile structured and unstructured data and verify its quality, accuracy and reasonableness. Lead the development of data quality standards, and the tools and methods used to measure and improve data quality.
  • Perform analyses of data from multiple sources to surface trends and insights using advanced analytical methods and machine learning. Validate analytical techniques employed by other analysts.
  • Prepare and deliver expert level visualizations and internal presentations that translate analytic insights into tangible, actionable solutions for senior leader stakeholders to implement.
  • Develop, own and manage recurring analytic or reporting processes. Demonstrate expertise in data visualization and mentor analysts on data visualization best practices.
  • Develop the analytics community at Vanguard by mentoring, coaching and connecting others with resources and training. Stay abreast of emerging trends and external best practices. Participate and present during scheduled analytics seminars.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years related work experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of digital marketing and Adobe Analytics.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
  • Advanced in SQL, Python, PySpark, Tableau, experimental design skills/experience.
