About the position

The Data Analyst for the SSOM Admissions at Loyola University Chicago plays a crucial role in supporting the Operations function of Admissions and broader enrollment efforts. This position requires collaborative support and technical expertise to address complex issues within the admissions process. The analyst will manage the AMP CRM system, ensuring a seamless user experience for internal staff, external offices, and prospective students. This includes overseeing user access, developing functionalities, and managing data integrations across various systems such as AMP, AMCAS, Wufoo, and Web Focus. The role also involves ongoing analysis of committee functions and candidate experiences to enhance the efficiency of the admissions process. In addition to system management, the Data Analyst will be responsible for creating, editing, and running complex data queries and reports using AMP and Microsoft Excel. This includes working closely with the Assistant Dean of Admissions to analyze and present student recruiting and enrollment data, which is vital for decision-making regarding admissions strategies. The analyst will also fulfill data requests from various stakeholders, including the admissions office, board of trustees, and partnered departments, and will collaborate with other offices to design and evaluate surveys. The position also encompasses communication responsibilities, such as building and editing complex emails and forms within the AMP system, assisting with SMS and email communications, and providing support to staff in responding to a high volume of emails from candidates and committee members. The Data Analyst will serve as an internal expert on the AMP system, providing training and support to staff and faculty, and may also participate in admissions committee activities. This full-time position operates on a hybrid work model, requiring occasional evening and weekend work for admissions events and potential out-of-state travel for conferences.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the user experience, access, and development for internal staff, external office use, and prospective students in technology environments.
  • Manage the functionality of queries and reporting in data systems including AMP, AMCAS, Wufoo, and Web Focus.
  • Provide ongoing analysis of committee functions, participant behavior, and candidate support to maximize efficiency.
  • Advise team members on systems' capabilities and limitations; provide support and training to committee members and staff.
  • Develop, maintain, and update virtual portal experiences for prospective and incoming students.
  • Create, edit, and run complex data queries and reports in AMP and Microsoft Excel.
  • Serve as a resource regarding admissions data, material, and processing details.
  • Work closely with the Assistant Dean of Admissions to analyze and present student recruiting and enrollment data.
  • Fulfill requests for data and analysis for the admissions office and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other offices to plan, design, and evaluate surveys and survey data.
  • Build and edit complex emails and forms in the AMP system.
  • Assist with the development of SMS and email communications within the AMP portal.
  • Respond to emails sent to the admissions office and provide support to staff with complex inquiries.
  • Serve as an internal expert in producing and providing AMP systems training and materials.
  • Provide backup reception duties for the front desk as needed.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or doctorate in a related field; 1-3 years' experience in advanced quantitative data analysis required or a combination of education and work experience.
  • A bachelor's degree or any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • At least one to two years of increasingly responsible related experience in a customer service work environment, working with complex technology and data systems and creating reports.
  • Advanced ability to understand and navigate a complex relational database and create complex data queries.
  • Experience collecting, manipulating, verifying, analyzing, and modeling data.
  • Knowledge of AMP Solutions CRM system or ability to learn within four to six weeks.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook, or ability to learn within four to six weeks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in higher education or an office of Admissions.
  • Experience working with the AMP Solutions CRM or equivalent.
  • HTML, CSS, and SQL coding skills are preferred.
  • Website editing experience is preferred.
