About the position

The Data Analyst position at The David J. Joseph Company (DJJ) involves leveraging data to provide actionable insights that drive strategic decisions and enhance operational efficiency within the supply chain. The role focuses on business intelligence development, data modeling, and visualization, contributing to a cross-functional team dedicated to continuous improvement and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain custom Power BI dashboards focusing on data accuracy and business needs.
• Partner with key stakeholders to understand reporting requirements.
• Stay current on emerging technologies and evolving business needs to develop proactive solutions.
• Collaborate across the enterprise to ensure the availability and performance of data infrastructure and systems.
• Develop data pipelines/ETLs and assist in gathering, cleaning, and transforming data from various sources.
• Design and implement data models and structures that support efficient data retrieval and analysis.
• Monitor data quality and implement data validation processes to promote data integrity and consistency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of actionable business insights.
• Train and support end users in the effective utilization of dashboards and assist in developing self-serve reporting capabilities.
• Continually assess and improve dashboard usability and accessibility.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related discipline).
• At least two years' experience in data management, reporting, and analysis.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, with demonstrated experience connecting business needs to technical solutions.

Nice-to-haves

• Strong knowledge of relevant BI technologies and concepts, such as Microsoft BI stack (Azure Synapse, Power BI, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS), SQL, DAX, MDX, Python or R, and data warehousing.
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodology.
• Experience in developing, enhancing, and troubleshooting applications.
• A creative and innovative mentality focused on serving as a strategic partner to cross-functional teams.
